Saudi man falls into Niagara Falls, missing

According to Gulf Today Qasem Al Adawi was with his family on a Niagara Falls tour around 8pm on Saturday when the incident took place, a close relative said.
“Some passersby say they heard a distress call before the man’s disappearance.
The police are combing the area near the waterfall.
The fate of the man is still unknown.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry received a call stating that a citizen had fallen into Niagara Falls.
According to the information, the ministry directed personnel to communicate with the family of the citizen and provide them care and housing.
The Niagara Falls incident has been trending on Twitter. People are calling for an intensive search.”

Niagara Falls, NY – At 8:25pm on the above date, Niagara Falls Fire rescues crews were dispatched to Prospect Point on at the Niagara Falls State Park to assist New York State Parks Police with locating a person who possibly fell into the water.
According to fire dispatch audio, several witnesses stated that they saw a person fall off of a log into the water near the vehicle bridge to Goat Island.
While one crew searched the waters around the top of the falls, another crew searched below near the Maid Of The Mist launch site but were unable to locate a person.

An estimated 40 people are killed each year when they are swept over the falls—most of which are suicides. Other figures suggest that the number of suicides is between 20 and 30, many of which are not publicized by officials.
